Any agreement for the purchase of goods from Studio D and the Customer shall be subject to these Business Policies, Terms and Conditions. By placing an order, customer consents to and agrees to abide by any and all of the following Terms and Conditions.
- Prices. Web Site prices are updated daily (Monday-Friday; holidays excluded) and are current to the best of our knowledge when posted. However, some products, prices, manufacturer promotions or offers may change before we are able to update and post the information on this Web Site. In the event of an unexpected cost increase or other change, we will contact you to determine whether you want to continue your order at the new price or cancel your order. We reserve the right to decline the acceptance of any orders.
- General Warranty. Studio D makes no warranty of any kind with respect to the information posted on this Web Site. While Studio D makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of the data, this Web Site could include typographical errors and technical inaccuracies. In addition, photos may not represent actual products.
- Liabilities. In no event shall Studio D be liable for any damages caused by any product or failure of such product to perform, whether or not advised of the possibility of such damage and regardless of the theory of liability pursuant to which such damages may be sought.
- Claims. If Customer makes any claims against Studio D, Customer agrees that the venue for such claims will be in the County of San Francisco, CA, USA.
- Customer Credit Card Charges. If necessary, Customer authorizes Studio D to charge their Credit Card for any Restocking, Overgood, or other charges, in addition to the cost of the products to include shipping charges for any product returned.
- Damaged Merchandise. All products are fully inspected and in perfect condition before being shipped out. When the merchandise is received, we ask that you inspect the outside of the cartons for any shipping damage. In the event there is noticeable damage (even if it is only slight) to the cartons or packaging, or you receive the incorrect product, please note it on the freight bill as “DAMAGED IN TRANSIT” and report the damage to us within 24 hours. This is VERY important. If you do not write this on the freight bill and contact us, we cannot guarantee that your delivery will be repaired, replaced, or otherwise remedied. If you return a damaged item without receiving authorization from us, the return will not be accepted and you will be responsible for the cost to reship the item per our standard return policy.
In order for us to process a replacement, you may be required to send pictures of the damaged/incorrect product and/or packaging to us. Please also retain the original packaging unless otherwise directed by our customer service department.
Large items that are delivered by a heavy freight company should be accepted regardless of damage. Please note the damage on the freight receipt, and report it to us within 24 hours. Failure to note damage to the product or packaging prior to the delivery company leaving the premises will release Studio D from all damage liabilities.
If the shipping carton shows obvious damage and was delivered from a recognized commercial carrier such as UPS, FedEx, etc., then refuse the shipment and email or call us immediately. If upon opening a carton from UPS, FedEx, or DHL you discover concealed damage, contact us right away to arrange for an inspection.
If you do not wish to receive a repair or replacement for the damaged item, you may return the item for a refund minus a 10% restocking fee and the cost for shipping both ways per our standard return policy below.
- 100% Satisfaction Guarantee: You may return most items within 14 days, subject to the Return Policy stated below.
- Return Policy: (See "Damaged Merchandise" for details on repairing or replacing damaged products.) If there is nothing wrong with the merchandise and you simply do not like the choice you made, the item may be returned for a refund minus a 10% restocking fee and the cost of shipping both ways. Although we offer free shipping, you will be responsible for the actual shipping cost we paid to ship the item to you plus the return shipping fees. Items must be returned within 14 days of receiving the merchandise. Sales outside the United States are final, no returns will be accepted for any reason.

Please keep in mind that once an order has shipped, it cannot be canceled. If you refuse an order, it will fall under our standard return policy. If you would like us to issue a call tag to pick the item up from your home or business, you will be charged the cost of the pickup plus return shipping.
All products must be in the original packaging in order to be returned. If the product is out of the packaging the freight company will not pick up the product. If you do not have the original packaging, we can send a crew to repackage the item for you for an additional fee.
Custom Items: Please note that we cannot accept returns on certain items after they have been assembled (exceptions made for damaged products). Please call us before you place your order if you'd like more details on a specific product's return policy. Personalized items (engraved, other), customized items (such as furniture with modified frames or use of non-standard materials), and clearance/overstock items cannot be returned or exchanged.
Items that Do Not Fit: In the event the furniture does not fit into the room or into the house, the delivery company will not return the merchandise without an authorization from Studio D. In this case, the customer is responsible for the freight cost both ways and a 10% restocking fee, no exceptions.
Refunds for canceled or returned orders can only be credited back to the same credit card used to make the purchase. In the event that the original credit card is no longer valid, we will mail a check to the billing address from the original order. Please note it may take up to 30 days for the refund to post to your credit card statement.
- Redelivery: Our freight carrier will contact you to arrange an appointment to deliver your order. If you are not home at this agreed upon delivery time or if you tell the carrier to come back at a later time (for any reason), you may be charged a $75 - $150 fee for re-delivery.
The decision to schedule and attempt a re-delivery will be made solely at the carriers discretion. If appointments are missed, or if the carrier is unable to contact you to arrange an appointment, your order may be returned to one of Cobble Road's fulfillment warehouses.
In these cases, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
- Storage charge: If our carrier is forced to store your merchandise, a fee of $50 per day may be charged to you.
Once our carrier contacts you, you must respond to them right away to set up a delivery appointment. If you do not respond, our carrier will be forced to store your merchandise at their shipping facility until they are able to contact you. You will be charged a storage fee of $50 per day.
- Refusing Delivery: If you return, refuse, or miss your delivery appointment(s) for a non-defective/un-damaged product, you will be responsible for all return shipping costs.
If you do not pay these costs directly to the carrier in advance, they may be deducted from your refund, after the product is returned to the appropriate warehouse.
Even though Studio D offers "Free Delivery", please note that orders that are refused for no reason without prior notice or canceled after the product is in transit, the customer will incur both shipping charges to the customers home/office and the return shipping charges back to the warehouse.
- Canceling or Changing Orders
Standard Items: Standard items can be canceled up to 48 hours prior to shipping without penalty.
Custom Items: A custom item is an item that has a color option swatch to choose from or engravable surface. These items are all custom made to order and are not sitting in stock in our warehouse. Custom items may be canceled any time prior to manufacturing subject to a 25% cancellation fee. These orders cannot be changed after this time due to the fact that they are in the manufacturing process.
For custom items beginning with SKU number "ADY," you must cancel within 24 hours of placing your order to avoid penalty. If you cancel your order after 24 hours, you will be charged a 25% cancellation fee unless the product is already in production. If the manufacturing process has already begun, a 40% cancellation fee will apply.
- Warranty Information: Many of the products we sell include a warranty directly from the company that manufactures the product. Studio D disclaims all other warranties, including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
- Out of Stock/Backorder Products: In some cases, items will be backordered and out of stock. You will be notified with estimated delivery time. We cannot give out exact delivery dates since we are waiting for these products from the factories. We will not charge your credit card until the item actually ships (unless it is a custom item).
- Sales Tax: We do not charge sales tax unless you live in the State of California. Likewise, if you live in Illinois or Massachusetts, we are required to charge sales tax only on the small number of products that ship from your respective state. Please be advised that although we do not charge sales tax in most states, you may be charged a Sales and Use Tax by your state.
- Shipping and Delivery: Studio D ships anywhere in the United States and Canada. All products ship free to most destinations in the continental U.S. Our basic free delivery service includes 1-person delivery to a Garage or First Dry Area. No weight limitation. Threshold or stair carries are not available for this level of service. ZIP Codes beginning with 100-103 and 118-119 may incur an additional $100 fee for delivery of items that ship by freight. UPS and FedEx shipments are not affected.

- White Glove Service: Includes inside placement, up to two (2) flights of stairs, unpacking, debris removal, and light assembly limited to thirty (30) minutes. The first flight of stairs shall constitute the fourth to fifteenth step and each additional flight shall consist of 10 steps or a fraction thereof. Stair carries in excess of two flights shall be charged an additional $25.00 per flight per shipment.
Light Assembly Services are limited to those that can be performed with a crescent wrench and screwdrivers and are not to exceed 30 minutes per delivery. Light assembly that exceeds 30 minutes will be charged at a rate of $20.00 per quarter hour or fraction thereof. Set up and light assembly services do NOT include any electrical or component hook-ups.
- Shipping Dates: The shipping times we quote are estimates, not guarantees. When it comes to order times we are depending on the factory to provide us with the estimated ship date. If we find that there's going to be an unusual delay for your order, we will notify you.
- Transit Time: On average, most large items take 7 to 21 days in transit from the time they ship, not from the time they're ordered. Most deliveries are made Monday through Saturday. We cannot give out exact delivery dates, we only can tell you when your order has shipped. In most cases, the delivery service will contact you to give you your exact delivery date and time.
- Payment: We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express, personal check, money order, and cashier's check. Your credit card will get charged once the order is processed for shipping, or in the case of a custom furniture order, as soon as you place your order.
- Pricing: If there is a pricing error on our web site, we will contact you with the correct price before processing your order.
- Coupons and Sales: Coupon codes are entered in the shopping cart at check out. Sales are taken off the price before purchase (no coupon code needed). Sale and coupon prices are good only for the dates shown. We do not discount or credit previous orders that were not on sale at the time of purchase. In most cases the discounts are passed down from the manufacturer and we cannot discount prior sales.
- Discontinued Items: On occasion items will be discontinued without notice. In this case, we will contact you and attempt to find a replacement or similar product. At this time, the order can be canceled without penalty.
- Color Shades: We do not guarantee color, tone, shades, or finishes on any item because screen settings may vary from computer to computer. For the best depiction of item color, set screen so that other items in the picture seem to be in their natural color. For many upholstered items, we offer free fabric samples (up to 6), and we strongly advise you to request samples before making your purchase. If you are trying to match items with other items you already have, you must do so at your own risk. Please read our return policies before making a purchase.
Additionally, when purchasing items made with natural materials such as leather or wool, please be advised that color shades can vary from dye lot to dye lot. This means that swatch samples you receive by mail may vary slightly from the actual shade or hue used to produce your item.
- Customizations: We do not guarantee exact size or color when a customized order is placed. Furniture size customizations are usually accurate within 2 inches of the dimensions you order. For example, if you order a chair customized to 40 inches wide, due to the accuracy of the manufacturing process itself, the chair may be as much as 42" or as little as 38" wide. Similarly, when ordering customized color for wood or other materials, we will do our best to closely match the color you have ordered, however, we cannot be held responsible for inaccuracies in matching your color exactly.
RETURN INSTRUCTIONS
To return a qualified unopened product, or to exchange a defective product, please follow these simple procedures (click here to read our Return Policy):
- Obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number from Studio D within 14 days of the invoice date by clicking on "Return Requests" in the Customer Service section of the Web Site or by calling us. Please retain the original packaging unless otherwise directed by our customer service department.
- Once your return has been authorized, we will email you the RMA number along with specific return instructions. The RMA number is valid for a period of 10 days. Open-item returns, returns received without a valid RMA #, or returns received more than 10 days after the RMA issue date will be classified as Overgoods* and will be refused. RMA #'s cannot be extended or re-issued.
- When you receive your RMA #, you will also receive an address where your package MUST be returned. Shipping the product return to an address other than the one provided may cause severe delays in the return/refund process.
- Pack the item you are returning within a sturdy shipping carton to prevent damage (large furniture items must either be professional packaged or in original packaging). We recommend you insure your return shipment against loss or damage, and use a carrier that can provide proof of delivery, such as UPS or FedEx. You are responsible for all shipping charges on returned items and any damages in transit.
- Prominently display the RMA number on the outside of the package being returned. Note: Do not write on or apply any labels directly to manufacturer boxes or original product packaging surfaces.
- Your refund will be issued once the returned product has been received and accepted. In an exchange situation, the original product you received must be shipped back to us and received in our shipping warehouse prior to your replacement shipping out. Shipping charges are not refundable.
Important Return Notes
Note: Packages without an RMA# or returned products that are not authorized or acceptable for return will be shipped back to you at your expense.
*Overgoods are returns received by the return address warehouse under the following conditions:
- Product was received without a valid Return Merchandise Authorization number.
- Product was received later than 10 calendar days from the RMA date.
- Product does not meet our expectations. For example, the product is not in resalable condition, or was claimed to be defective and is found to be non-defective.
- Product is claimed to be unopened by the customer. Upon receipt a technician opens the package and discovers the product had been opened by the customer before it was returned.
Overgoods will be denied a refund and shipped back to you at your expense. This will be charged to your credit card. Your return may also be subject to a $50 processing fee if Studio D is assessed a $50 processing fee from our supplier.
If a product cannot be deemed resalable and is sent back to the customer and the customer refuses a returned product shipment, or returns the product a second time without Studio D's prior authorization, the customer agrees to relinquish all right and title to and waives all claims against Studio D for credit charges related to such products.
Most returns and exchanges are processed within one to three business days. However, because we must follow the exchange procedures established by our suppliers and the manufacturers, the time to process your request can occasionally take longer.
